A Great Day.

This is my first blog ever and I figure it should start with a bang. Today i was ordained by my dad to the Melchizedek Priesthood after stake conference. It was a great experience and the spirit was really strong. My brothers Patrick and Brett as well as President Jensen and Andersen got to stand in the circle to do the blessing. It was awesome. President Jensen told us it was when he thinks we go from boys to men and put away childish things. Which is a lot to take in but I know its time because I leave for my mission in approximately....86 Days! For anyone reading this and who doesn't know, i am going to the Oklahoma, Oklahoma city Spanish speaking mission. When I first got my call I was really happy. I mean Oklahoma isn't exactly the first place anyone thinks of going right? I decided after a little research it would be a great mission. What is going to be a little weird for me though is the difference in membership from Nevada to Oklahoma. I went to LDSchurchnews.com and looked up the difference between the two states. Nevada has over 173,000 members, 35 Stakes, 288 Wards, 29 Branches, and the percentage of LDS people is 6.7% (or one in 15). Oklahoma has a little over 41,000 members, 7 Stakes, 58 Wards, 25 branches, and the percentage of LDS people is 1.1 (1 in 88). I know anyone reading this doesnt want a history lesson or anything, but, what i'm trying to get at is it's going to be a new crazy experience knowing that there is less than a fourth of the members in Nevada. The people in Mesquite have always been so great and strong. I love you all. Ill try to do this whole blogging thing again soon.
